A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Chronograph Hampton Court
The A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Chronograph “Hampton Court Edition” is a unique timepiece crafted to commemorate the 2022 Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace. This one-of-a-kind watch was auctioned on November 6, 2022, by Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo, with all proceeds donated to The Prince’s Trust, a charity founded by HRH The Prince of Wales to support young people.
This special edition features a 39.5 mm white gold case paired with a black dial adorned with sandstone-colored numerals and scales. The rhodié-colored subsidiary dials for small seconds and the minute counter provide a striking contrast, enhancing legibility. The watch is equipped with the manually wound Lange calibre L951.5 movement, offering a 60-hour power reserve and featuring a flyback function, column-wheel control, and a precisely jumping minute counter. A hand-engraved hinged cuvette bearing the Concours of Elegance logo adds to its exclusivity.
At the auction, the 1815 Chronograph “Hampton Court Edition” achieved a record price of 1,058,500 CHF, marking the highest result for a Lange wristwatch at that time.
